Chapter Philanthropy

Our chapter's yearlong philanthropy efforts also focus on supporting Camp Kaleidoscope, which provides chronically and terminally ill children at Duke Children's Hospital with the opportunity to attend a week-long summer camp in the mountains of North Carolina at no charge. We hold an annual 5K run/walk over Parent's Weekend each October to raise funds for the summer camp. In the 2014-2015 year we introduced two new events to raise funds for Camp Kaleidoscope, a "Kappa Kappaccino" study break and bake sale in December and a trunk show co-hosted with LF stores and another Panhellenic sorority in March. This year we raised $14,695 for Camp Kaleidoscope, which will send about 35 kids to camp! We continue to explore new ways for our chapter to support "Camp K," an organization closely tied to Duke University and the Durham community at large.
